With a background in Mechanical Engineering and a lifelong passion for health, Sebastian founded Kōdo to bridge the gap between premium nutrition and great taste. His journey was shaped by diverse experiences, from the lack of truly nourishing food options to a deep desire to uplift his community.

Born and raised in Oregon, Sebastian attended Oregon State University (Go Beavs!) before exploring life across California, Ohio, and Texas. He later earned his MBA from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, ultimately returning to the Pacific Northwest.

When he’s not innovating at Kōdo, you’ll find him on two wheels, tending to his yard, or playing soccer with his son. 

Laura’s love for cooking began at a young age, inspired by watching Julia Child bring creativity to the kitchen. As a teenager, she developed food sensitivities and took it upon herself to craft meals that nourished her body and made her feel her best.

Born and raised in Southern California, destiny led her to the Pacific Northwest for college, where she met Sebastian at the rival University of Oregon (Sco Ducks!). Her passion for recipe development led her to become a Certified Natural Chef at Bauman College, honing her skills in creating food that’s as nourishing as it is delicious.

Outside the kitchen, she enjoys spending time in nature, water coloring, and playing board games with her family.
